Brockport Church of Christ Re-Opening Guidelines

In accordance with the Governor’s recent announcement, we will conduct Worship services at the church building beginning this Sunday.  Until further notice, we are allowed up to 25% of the building’s capacity, which is 165 upstairs.  So, we can have 41.25 people in the auditorium.

We will also continue to utilize Zoom meeting (same link we have been using) for those who are not comfortable coming out to in-person services, or who may not be feeling well.  Please stay home if you are feeling sick, have a fever, or have been exposed to the Coronavirus recently.

What to Expect

  1. There will be no Sunday morning Bible Class for the time being; only worship service beginning at 11am. This should reduce restroom use and thereby transmission of germs.

  2. There will be no Bulletin to avoid contamination and transmission of germs.

  3. Prepackaged communion cups will be available as you enter each door which will include one piece of bread and a cup of fruit of the vine. There will be no passing of communion or contribution plates. Use your individual communion set at the proper time.

  4. : boxes will be available on the table at each door with the communion sets.  Please place your contribution there when you arrive, or as you leave.

Social Distancing guidelines

  1. Maintain 6’ distancing (2 arm’s lengths) from anyone who is not immediate family

  2. Masks are also for everyone (singing produces more moisture in the air to carry germs/viruses).

  3. hugging/handshaking/etc.

  4. Please do not congregate at any door

    • Stay 6’ from everyone who is not your immediate family.

    • Fellowship outside, not inside, before or after services and maintain distancing.

  5. Every other pew is taped off to encourage social distancing.  Families may sit together.

    • All doors will be kept open for the duration of services to allow air to circulate and not have a closed air system.Air conditioner & fans will be on as needed, even though doors are open SO dress accordingly.

  6. Hand sanitizer is available at each door, so feel free to use it.  If you have individual bottles for your own personal use, please consider bringing them.

We are taking these measures for everyone’s safety, as per CDC guidelines.

In His Service,

Scott Kelley, Minister

We want you to be comfortable when you visit us. You can expect a Christian atmosphere, one conducive to worshiping God in spirit and in truth. We hope the information below helps you decide to join us in worship. Remember, if you have a Bible question, we'll give you a Bible answer.

Sunday Worship

Praying: We are led by different men in the congregation (1 Timothy 2:1-8).

Singing: The whole congregation joins together in praising God in song without the use of musical instruments (Ephesians 5:19 , Colossians 3:16). Acapella is the method of musical praise that was practiced in the early church, the precedent laid down by the Apostles (Ephesians 5:19 , Colossians 3:16, Hebrews 2:12). The words are available in our songbooks.

Taking Communion: Every Sunday, our members remember Christ's death by eating unleavened bread and drinking fruit of the vine (Acts 20:7). We sit quietly for a few minutes and reflect on how wonderful it is that God loved us enough to give his own Son for us!

Preaching: We will enjoy a Bible lesson. Each lesson will take a Bible passage and explain what it means and how it applies to our lives.
Giving: Each member of this congregation contributes weekly to the work of the church (1 Corinthians 16:2). We do not ask or expect our visitors to give anything in the offering.
